Danny Brown
was always known for his friendliness. His appeal to young people. He was
someone who was sought after in the rap game for his originality. He brought
something to the table that was very interesting and unique. After
investigation, Danny Brown can be seen to be a very different type of rapper
than the other rappers of the early 2010s.
The
other rappers that were coming out back then were all about the hustle. They
were into repping where they were from, and talking about the heights that they
were taking the game to. They wanted to bring other people with them, and
listeners were hooked. Everyone was trying to be the next craze.
By the
time Danny Brown’s reign was over, he had committed artistic suicide and let
loose the spirit of friendship all over the new school Purple scene. The new
Danny Brown never really did have too much of an impact on rap, because no one
listened. It’s not like it lacks originality, but it lacks appeal. His presence
in the old school can be seen though to have the futuristic kind of appeal that
still applies to the new school rappers that have adopted his style.
Danny
Brown and his influence can be seen on rappers like the TDE gang, with Ab-Soul,
Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, and Jay Rock. These types of rappers are all about
the future instead of living in the present with everyone else. To make matters
worse, they always like to link up and rap together about ways to take over the
world.
They used to love trap singers in
TDE, and some of them, like SZA have come up in the industry as of late. It’s
kind of suspicious, because the style of the TDE rappers has also become very
popular as an alternative to the hustle that the Trap House rappers endorse. It’s
like they’re doing something with their semi-conscious movement that lacks
legitimacy. Getting too involved in other people’s business with their raps and
going harder at influencing the future generation of Purple rappers rather than
caring about the hustle.
If there’s
anything at the root of this situation, it comes down to human rights. The way
that people in society are being treated by these high life influencers is less
than ideal. People are always complaining about the way that the gangster
rappers from TDE are treating people. It’s like they’re after something greater
than their audience, and they keep fronting like they want something to do with
the mainstream, like it’s only about the money.
