I remember when the first Purple rappers came out on the scene in the mid-2010s. The game was over. All the fun people were having doing the trap house style all of a sudden changed up. I’m sure people weren’t happy about it. It took a long time for the world to come back together after that.
People
have been all over the place since then, but it feels like everything has been
staying in the same place. You’ll catch word of some girl listening to Purple
rappers every now and then, to mixed reviews. I heard that it was a big deal,
too. Rappers aren’t supposed to be treated like dirt. They got people all mixed
up for what the game should be.
That isn’t
to say that there isn’t worth in new school rap. They take things in a new
direction that probably has a purpose, and is probably good for society. They
let the world breathe a little bit. Gave everyone some space to think about
what’s really going on with rap.
That
might mean that the trap house rappers are working on something behind the
scenes. They sure wouldn’t take things lying down. They’ve been a little caught
up in the industry with the Purple rappers though. It’s like they’re popping
out of thin air sometimes, just to further abduct someone into their system.
What
needs to happen here is that rap needs to come to some kind of agreement as to
what it’s doing, so that we can all return to normal. Despite being a fan of
drama, as are rappers, there is a limit that people can take it to. At a
certain point, we need order in the rap game. We need to set things straight,
and give the game to the people who deserve it.
There’s
a lot of word about new rappers coming out that they’re going to get further
endorsed by big money the moment they touch the ground. The hustle that rappers
have been known to have is really changing up in this system, though. People
who deserve money can really show that they’re worth something to society, not
just the people who’re running the game.
It makes
me question who’s running the game, too, if things are really changing up that
much. Whether the trap house is very pleased with the way Purple rappers are
treating the game. I think DJs have their opinions too, considering they’ve
been addicted to playing only the Purple mix, and avoiding a lot of trap music.
Where
are the trap rappers? Are they still obsessing over themselves and the antics
they’re known for? Or did something change at some point? These new rappers
have been all over the media, taking up the space of the deserving ghetto
hustlers that America knows and loves. There must be some kind of dramatic
tension between the new school and the old school that’s present. It looks like
it’s getting hidden by the fact that collabs between the new and old are
becoming the new mixtape standard.
If
someone would just step up to the plate and say this isn’t what’s up, I would
appreciate it. The further I’m digging into this drama, the worse things are getting
for our favorite ghetto superstars. The rap outlets are being dominated by
fiends with crazy names that don’t make any sense. It’s like the whole game has
been possessed by the devil at this point.
What
needs to happen is we come to a resolution here. People in general need to
agree on some kind of standard for the music they’re listening to. That doesn’t
mean that we have to exclude the new schoolers and the newcomers to the rap
game at all. We need to think about what’s happening here, though. It’s a big
change from the Trap House rappers to the Purple rappers, and no one ever
really said anything about it. They just kind of let it happen.
If Purple
rappers would let the old schoolers have their game back, so that the Trap
House can step back into the spotlight, I think everyone would appreciate it,
so that things can stop being all about ditching the Trap for the new school,
leaving the dedicated audience to feel very alienated by the whole situation.
