Music festivals have established
themselves to be hubs of mainstream music fans. People from all over the place
come to gather and listen to the popular music of the era. But what happens
when the music industry is going through changes affects the music festival
scene directly. New artists coming out can be intimidating to the types of
listeners who like to know what they’re listening to, aka the mainstream. When
things start falling off of the mainstream, then listeners can start falling
off too.
It’s
like a dystopian philosophy. The establishment of something that everyone likes
can lead the world to follow in the footsteps of the greats. The ones most
accomplished at things that are popular. There are games established for
artists and fans, and everyone likes to know and follow the trends that are
set.
Music
festivals become popular locations for people to see their favorite artists.
The ones that they’ve been dying to see and heard all about. The amount of
excitement that builds up leads the music festival to become a place where
people can lose themselves in the scene, the sounds, and the festivities. But
when no one knows what they’re listening to, then the scene starts dying out.
People get underwhelmed by the artists there that no one has ever heard of.
Musical
artists can become popular through showing up at the right place at the right
time, even though they never did anything that’s considered musically great. If
you think about it, when the establishment of mainstream music is going through
issues, then there is a lot more at stake than just the music.
The
whole music scene likes to have cohesion. When everyone gets together for the
common cause of listening to something great, then a lot of magical things
happen. But greatness isn’t a unilateral factor. It takes a lot to be a great
musician. It especially takes a lot of knowing about what’s happening on the
music scene.
The
music scene is a very diverse place. There are all kinds of people who listen
to music. The target audience of any artist isn’t just one single person. It’s
a multitude of various people. I think that the music scene can get very
confused about what makes for a good musical concept. When there are a lot of
decisions being made about how to approach things, then people can take
different directions to music that can lead the scene in various directions.
What
happens then is that the whole world starts to follow the trends being set by
artists who’re making irrational decisions about what type of music they’re
making. This is probably what’s at fault for the music scene falling apart
eventually. When morality is lost, then there are plenty of things that can go
wrong.
Some of
the most moral artists can be viewed in certain ways by artists that are less
moral. There starts to become adversity to having it all together. Jealousy
takes place, and trendsetters start to make moves that give morality a run for
its money. The music scene is generally better when there is a sense of
morality, though, and that is generally represented in the mainstream.
Some of
the biggest artists of our time have made their way through the music industry
lacking morals, however, and that has eventually led to both their downfall and
the downfall of the music industry in its entirety. Things can catch up to
artists when their material is lacking in substance. What it takes is a
consistent move towards a better establishment is there is any hope to save the
music industry from demise at the hands of an immoral dystopia.
